Taylor Swift : elle évoque le cancer de sa mère

Peut-être pour éviter que certains ne colportent tout et n’importe quoi à ce sujet, Taylor Swift a décidé d’évoquer le cancer de sa mère. Et c’est sur son Tumblr que la chanteuse a fait cette confidence qui ne peut bien sûr laisser personne insensible.

C’est ainsi qu’elle a écrit « À Noël cette année, j’ai demandé à ma mère qu’elle me fasse le cadeau d’aller chez le méde­cin. L’idée était de véri­fier qu’elle n’était atteinte d’aucune mala­die et de calmer mes angoisses (…) Elle y est allée. Les résul­tats viennent de tomber et je suis très triste de vous annon­cer qu’on lui a diagnos­tiqué un cancer. J’ai­me­rais garder privés les détails de sa condi­tion et de son trai­te­ment, mais elle voulait que vous le sachiez ».

Un peu plus loin elle a expliqué les raisons de sa démarche. En informant ses fans, elle a voulu les sensibiliser et leur faire prendre conscience de l’importance qu’il y a à convaincre ses parents à consulter régulièrement leur médecin et à se faire dépister contre le cancer.  Car, et avant cet examen, sa maman ne présentait aucun signe et se sentait même parfaitement bien !

Pour Taylor Swift se faire examiner peut conduire à un diagnostic précoce et donc permettre un combat plus efficace contre la maladie.

Bref, et même si vos parents sont trop occupés à jongler avec tout ce qu’ils ont à faire, tentez de les convaincre de prendre le temps nécessaire pour consulter.

I’m writing to you with an update I wish I wasn’t giving you, but it’s important and I’m used to sharing important events in my life with you. Usually when things happen to me, I process them and then write music about how I feel, and you hear it much later. This is something my family and I thought you should know about now.

For Christmas this year, I asked my mom that one of her gifts to me be her going to the doctor to get screened for any health issues, just to ease some worries of mine. She agreed, and went in to get checked. There were no red flags and she felt perfectly fine, but she did it just to get me and my brother off her case about it.

The results came in, and I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I’d like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know.

She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they’ve got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle… Or peace of mind in knowing that they’re healthy and there’s nothing to worry about. She wanted you to know why she may not be at as many shows this tour. She’s got an important battle to fight.
